Our Inspiration
The Rural Plate Project was born from a personal understanding of financial hardship and the challenges of accessing essential resources. After experiencing chronic illness and the loss of a business, the founder was inspired to extend a helping hand to others facing similar struggles. Living in a rural area highlighted the difficulties many face in reaching shops for affordable food options, reinforcing the need for a community-focused solution.
Making a Difference
We are dedicated to making a tangible difference by providing access to fresh fruit, vegetables, and quality food at affordable prices. By redistributing surplus food from suppliers and retailers, we not only combat food waste and reduce landfill contributions but also ensure that individuals and families have access to nutritious meals. Our dignified pantry model empowers our community members while fostering strong connections through volunteering and partnerships.
